'Aadhi Bhagavan' ventures to Poland

Jeyam Ravi's "Aadhi Bhagavan" is all set to fly to the exotic and medieval land of Poland. We may have already seen a few locales of Poland in the past in movies such as Karthi's "Saguni" and Aamir's "Fanaa". Even Hollywood has an eye on Poland where they shot films like "Schindler's List" and "The Pianist".

The "Aadhi Bhagavan" team is planning on shooting for the songs at the castles in the Polish countryside which have a great architectural history, the famous theatres at Krakow and the mountain ranges of Silesia and Tatra.

Vinay in 'Senthatti Kaalai Sevatha Kaalai'

Director Saran, whose last venture was the Ajith starrer 'Aasal', is back after a break. He has teamed up with his 'Modhi Vilayadu' hero Vinay for a new film.

 Titled 'Senthatti Kaalai Sevatha Kaalai', the movie is expected to have Vinay in two contrast roles. Shooting for the project is getting a kick start today.

Bharadwaj, whose music is a regular feature in Saran directed ventures, will compose music for 'Senthatti Kaalai Sevatha Kaalai' too.

The film will be jointly produced by Saran Movie Factory and Vega Entertainment Pvt Ltd. "Saran has come out with a totally different script that will shuttle between two extreme backdrops," sources say.

Vikram Prabhu gets Rajini's blessings

Even as his debut acting venture 'Kumki' hitting the screens, young gun Vikram Prabhu met Superstar Rajinikanth and received his blessings.

"Rajini sir is one of my biggest inspirations. I called on him on his birthday and sought his blessings for the success of Kumki," says Vikram Prabhu.

He adds: "The Superstar wished me all success and said that hard work would always end up in success. His words motivated me a lot."

Produced by Lingusamy's Thirupathi Brothers Film Media Pvt Ltd, 'Kumki' directed by Prabhu Solomon is being released today by Studio Green.

Political party disturbs Vijay's shoot?

There was a buzz that the shooting of Vijay's forthcoming film was disrupted by activists of a powerful political party in Mumbai recently.

However, director A L Vijay has refuted this claim. "There is no truth in this. I wonder from where such an imaginary story cropped up?"

The director added that the Mumbai schedule was very smooth and the cast and crew of the movie canned some important scenes at the business capital of the country.

Starring Vijay and Amala Paul in lead roles, the film has music by G V Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Nirav Shah. "We are yet to decide on the title," the director informs.

Rajini surprises fans again...

It was second surprise to the fans of Superstar Rajinikanth in just two days. The first was the 'Thalaivar' meeting them on his birthday on Wednesday.

And the second big surprise came on Thursday night, when Rajini turned up at a function organised by his fan clubs to celebrate his 63rd birthday.

The YMCA Grounds at Royapettah saw a huge wave of happiness when the Superstar entered into the venue. Thousands of his fans jumped with joy when they saw the matinee idol.

The annual event would normally see the presence of some popular personalities from film industry, though Rajini would stay away. "But this time he took part to honour us," says an office-bearer of Rajini Rasigar Mandram.

'I am falling in love', says Samantha

Actress Samantha is awaiting her next release, Neethane En Ponvasantham. The young actress during an interview to a Telugu television channel said that she is falling in love with the Telugu film industry and the people. The pretty actress, who has given a lot of hits in Andhra, presently resides there and says she feels at home in Andhra.
The Neethane En Povasantham actress also took the opportunity to praise and thank Gautham Menon, whom she considers as her mentor. “He gives so much meat to my character and makes every role very intense. That is why people love him here,” she added.
Neethane En Ponvasantham and its Telugu version Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu are releasing tomorrow amidst high expectations. Samantha plays the lead lady in both the versions, whereas Nani replaces Jiiva in YVM.

Sneha files a complaint against her director

Snaha Ullal, who appeared in Ennai Theriyuma, is a busy actress in Tollywood. She is presently shooting for the Telugu-Tamil 3D bilingual, Aasu Raja Rani Matrum Joker directed by Anil Sunkara. During a sequence, it is heard that two parrots were accidentally killed and Sneha, who is an animal lover, was irked by the incident. The actress blamed the director for the mishap and filed a complaint against him with the Blue Cross. The director and the entire crew are taken aback by her move, say reports.
Aasu Raja Rani Matrum Joker is an upcoming comedy entertainer starring Shaam, Allari Naresh, Vaibhav, Raju Sundaram, Sudeep and Kamna Jethmalani. Bappi and Bappa Lahiri are composing the songs and Thaman is likely to do the background scores for the film.

AR Rahman back in the Oscar race

A.R.Rahman’s last Hollywood outing, ‘People like us’ has been shortlisted for the Academy Awards for its original scores. After he won the two Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire in 2009, he was again shortlisted for his work in 'Couples Retreat' followed by two nominations in the year 2011 for Danny Boyle’s '127 Hours'.
He is now back in this year’s Oscars shortlist for Alex Kurtzman’s 'People Like Us'. Surprisingly, another Indian features in the list too. Sreevalsan J Menon, a well-known musician from Kerala, features in the list for his work in Roopesh Paul’s ‘Saint Dracula’. Other than these two, there are 104 other musicians competing for the final nominations.
The final nominations will be announced on February 10^th and the award ceremony will happen on 24^th of the same month.

The lyrics of Kochadaiyaan’s soundtrack will be released next week. They have been written by Vairamuthu and A.R.Rahman has scored the music.
Performance capture and 3D technologies have been used in this movie which has been in the post production stage for long. Deepika Padukone is Rajini’s pair in this movie with Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi, Nassar and Shobana being a part of the support cast.

Kamal wishes to gross Rs.150 crore with Vishwaroopam

Kamal Haasan is all excited about his film Vishwaroopam ahead of it's release. Apart from acting in the film, Kamal is also the director and producer of the upcoming project and has set a safe target of Rs.150 crore for Vishwaroopam. The release is due on the 11th of January, with the audio getting released on the 7th of this month.

One of the talking points about Vishwaroopam has been the way Kamal Haasan is planning to simultaneously release the film with a DTH provider. He has stated that the film will be available at a price of Rs.1000 on DTH with it's release allowing audiences to enjoy the movie experience from home. Having done so, he is betting to raise around Rs.150 crore through 2000 screens across the globe. Vijay Sethupathi signs up for 'Rummy'

After churning out two success films in Pizza and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanum, Vijay Sethupathi has quickly established himself as a popular name in Kollywood. Now, the actor has signed up for another film, yet again to be directed by a debutant. The project is titled 'Rummy' and is being handled by K.Balakrishnan.

The film has some much needed credibility to it's crew with the likes of D.Imman composing the music and Yugabharathi penning the lines. The duo's last work together in Kumki has gotten a lot of appreciation from the fans. K.Premkumar, who worked in Sundarapandian and NKPK will be the cinematographer and Raja Muhammed will be handling the editing. Inigo Prabhakaran, famous from Sundarapandian and Azhagar Samiyin Kudhirai will also be playing a role.

Kadal full track list gets released, with artist information

The track list of the much awaited album Kadal is out on the internet. The film has been making news ever since Mani Ratnam announced it and recently, two singles from the soundtrack - Nenjukulley, and Elay Keechan have become highly popular. The latter has even topped the iTunes chart even before release of the final album. Madhan Karky and his veteran dad Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu have shared the lyrics in-between the songs.

Ajith and A.R.Murugadoss to come together in 2013

Sources have revealed that actor Ajith Kumar and A.R.Murugadoss will be coming together in 2013 for a big name project titled 'Thala'. The director is on a high after making Thuppaki with Vijay, which has been hugely successful in Tamil Nadu. Now, a project with Ajith could mean another blockbuster movie for fans.

Remember that Ajith was the one who initially gave a break to Murugadoss in his debut film Dheena. Since then, both the actor and the director have grown greatly in stature producing several hits. It appears that Ajith would free himself up for the film after his work with Siruthai Siva. Meanwhile, ARM would make the remake of Thuppaki in Hindi with Akshay Kumar.
